The Intex Challenger K2 Kayak comes with an I-beam floor, an inflatable seat and backrest, grab lines on both ends, and a pair of hard plastic skegs on its underside which provides better directional control.
Kayaks are a great way to enjoy the water by yourself or with the company. They also provide a fun and easy form of exercise that can be enjoyed by all ages.
However, not everyone has access to a kayak, which is why Intex created the Challenger K2 Kayak.
The Intex Challenger K2 is an inflatable kayak that provides hours of relaxing time on your favorite body of water while being lightweight and easy to carry.
There’s no need for any equipment other than an air pump since this bad boy comes fully inflated right out of the box.
It even includes two paddles so you’re ready to go in minutes! Find out more about this fantastic product below…

It is made of super-tough vinyl which makes it stronger and more durable. The cockpit has been designed to ensure ample space and adequate comfort for the user.

It is designed for use on slow-moving rivers and lakes. Since it has a low profile, it is not advisable to carry it into very strong ocean currents or white water rapids. The entire kit also includes a paddle, footrest, inflatable seat, carrying case, patch kit, and pump.
Intex Challenger K2 Kayak Review
Starting with the good things about the Intex Challenger K2 Kayak, it is easy to inflate and deflate and the pump included in the kit works well. The Boston valves featured in this kayak work like a charm.

It can be taken down pretty easily too and packed away into the closet without getting in anyone’s way at home. Unfortunately, that’s just about all the good stuff that customers have had to share with us.
There has been more than one issue with the K2 and that has put this kayak high on our list of undesirable products.

The first problem a lot of customers faced with the Intex Challenger K2 was its poor tracking abilities and directional control. When taken out into the water, it just seemed to spin around in circles.
In addition, they also found it very difficult to steer. One person pointed out that it could be because of the weird placement of the skegs which are located in the middle of this flotation device.
Ease of Set-Up
The Challenger is a great choice for beginners who want to try out the waters without putting in much effort.
This kayak only requires two pieces of equipment: water-resistant duct tape and an inflation gauge (which you can purchase separately). The tough vinyl floor makes it easy enough that even kids could do this.
Another customer made keels out of soft balsa wood at home after which the kayak seemed to work fine.
However, in most cases, people complained about the difficulty of keeping the kayak going in a straight line while paddling and this certainly wasn’t recommended for anything more than a splash in the pond.
Another more serious issue cropped up which had more to do with company practices and not necessarily the quality of the kayak itself. When people bought the K2 model, they got an older model in a new box.
Although the customer service was able to resolve the issue, few people found it extremely disturbing that the company should be trying to palm off their old ware in this surreptitious manner.
Conclusion
On a final note, those looking to buy Intex Challenger K2 Kayak should consider other models in the same price range. This product is definitely not worth investing money in. There are way too many complaints and issues to ignore.
There is no reason why a pleasurable activity should turn into an unpleasant experience when there are so many other better options available in the market.
The Intex Challenger K2 Kayak is an affordable kayak that will suit the needs of most people. It may be a little too small for taller or heavier individuals, but otherwise, it provides good stability and rigidity in the water, making it easy to maneuver with its two-layer polyethylene material construction.
If you’re looking for something inexpensive that’s still durable enough to last through years of use, this might just be your best bet!
